Father, how grateful we are that we have an eternal home to look forward to – and not just any eternal home – but a Heavenly Home that YOU will share with us!! What an honour – what a privilege!

I do personally feel like Paul, that “to live is Christ but to die is but to die would be my gain, and there are times when it’s all I can do to agreeably remain here; however, I know You have an appointed time for each one of us, myself included; and I pray You will enable me to bear fruit as long as You keep me here. I share with Paul that longing to be with You, Lord, ”For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better” (Phil.1:21-23).

I groan and sigh in this decrepit earthly body, and so look forward to replacing it with that perfect & glorious body free from all ailments that I know You have waiting for me. I am impatient to put on my new body so this fading, dying body can be swallowed up by life – life eternal, & eternally with YOU!

I do find it such a comfort to know that upon leaving my body, I will be with You. I get excited about the glorious body/the perfectly whole/well body I will ultimately receive. I find comfort and relief in knowing that my eternal state will be free from stress and all manner of pain and suffering, including ongoing storms and testing. I get excited and feel like a child waiting for their birthday surprise, when I think of what that “house in Heaven” will be like, the intriguing mysteries of the unknown. Although I tremble at the thought, the ultimate – the climax – is when I imagine being able to actually see You face-to-face. What a glorious privilege! What a glorious day that will be!

I give You the glory and the honour for this Heavenly Home I look forward to, & thank-You in greatly humbled spirit for the fact that You would invite, receive, & want me to be with You eternally. I thank-You, Holy Father, that I walk by faith, & not by sight, and this by the gifted power of Your Holy Spirit, for which I am so grateful.

In Your Holy Name. Amen.
