PRAYER GUIDE, “SEEKING THE LORD,” 07.05.20
I am so grateful, Father, that You even want to be found by an ongoing nuisance, whiney, complaining, sometimes impudent child. Thank-You, Abba, for putting up with me. I can identify with David when he said: “Who am I, O Lord God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far?” (2 Sam.7:18).
“With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You” (Ps.119:10,11). Let me thirst for more of that living water and drink from that fountain of life daily. May always “seek first Your Kingdom & Your righteousness,” longing to be more like Jesus/Yeshua, ever yearning for greater intimacy. I lock down and seal this true heart’s desire, by the blood of Jesus/Yeshua, that my passion and walk of delighting in You will never leave me.
Thank-You, Lord, that when I need strength, You strengthen me; when I am afraid, You deliver me from fear; when I am in pain You are with me in that pain, You deliver me from that pain; that when I need Your guidance, I hear Your voice. Thank-You heavenly Father, that when I seek You, You are always right there! Thank-You, Lord, that I have liberal access to that LIVING WATER!
Thank-You, Heavenly Father, that “You are my God;” I will live my life choosing to begin my day by seeking to know You. I want, always to come higher and closer, and go deeper in my relationship with You: “Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.” Yes, this land is dry, devoid of their knowledge of You; and I am so grateful that I know and experience Your amazing Presence each and every single day. Without that, I would not want to be here; for my greatest desire is “to know You, Lord Jesus/Yeshua, and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.” I do feel as Paul, that “to live is Christ (serving You, becoming more like You), and to die is gain (being with You, having it ALL),” and I desire nothing that this world has to offer; I want only all of You, and none of myself.
I pray for those who do not know You, that they would be filled with Holy Hunger, and would come to seek You, “for they will seek You and they will find You, when they will seek You will ALL their hearts.”
And, Lord, bring these ones who are so caught up in the world, glorying in their own fleshy lusts, self-idolatry, worshipping self, sex, science, famous individuals, New Age, secular humanism, and all manner of human lusts and desires – bring them to a place of conviction and repentance. Humble them, bring them to that place where they will instead “glory in that they know YOU, that You are a God of righteousness, judgment and justice, as well as love and mercy.”
I pray these things in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua. Amen.
