30.04.20, IT’S ALL THE SAME .  .. .

Whether under attack by a human foe, threatened by the Evil One – the Enemy of your soul – or by some form of physical ailment, be it viral or otherwise, the ideal and ultimate source of help for the believer remains the same:

PSALM 121

  1. I will lift up my eyes unto the hills

From whence comes my help?

My help comes from the Lord,

Who made heaven and earth.

He will not allow your foot to be moved;

He who keeps you will not slumber.

Behold, He who keeps Israel

Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;

The Lord is your shade at your right hand.

The sun shall not strike you by day,

Nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;

He shall preserve your soul.

The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in

From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Almighty God, Yahweh, presides over all. He is our life-giving source, our deliverer, shield of protection – our everything.

Does this mean, however, that He will never allow harm, or even death to befall His people?

Not exactly. It means that whatever God allows will be for our good/our best. It means that He is with us in whatever we must endure. We must keep in mind that “everything has its time:”

God our Father has organized His universe according to events, seasons and times, among many other things. Our lives are ordered in ways we do not necessarily understand; God IS in charge, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isa.55:9). Our lives are organized  in a way that accommodates God’s purposes, not ours.
