The sifting of the last days is soon to begin. It will culminate in “His glorious community—not having stain or wrinkle or any such thing, but in order that she might be holy and blameless” (Eph.5:27). He will sift and glean until He attains a body of believers truly sold out to Him, purified and cleansed, sifted, sanded, and pruned. This will embody the melding of Jew and Gentile believers forming the ultimate “one new man (formed) from the two groups, making shalom, and to reconcile both to God in one body through the cross” (Eph.2:15,16); this will be “Israel and the Church converging,” to form “one new man,” the answer to Jesus/Yeshua’s prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane (John 17:21).

Just as Messiah said to the Church of Laodicea “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. Oh, that you were either cold or hot! So because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to spew you out of My mouth” (Rev.3:15,16), so He is saying to much of His community today, for He desires a community of believers who are totally surrendered to Him and in unity with one another.  He requires His people to cleanse themselves of all flesh and evil desires; therefore He says: “I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white clothes so that you may dress yourself and so the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed, and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline. Therefore, be zealous and repent” (Rev.3:18,19).

“For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready, She was given fine linen to wear, bright and clean! For the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the kedoshim.” Then the angel tells me, “Write: How fortunate are those who have been invited to the wedding banquet of the Lamb!” (Rev.19:7-9). These words were not written to unbelievers, but to believers. This clearly indicates that not all are “invited to the wedding banquet of the Lamb,”  for much of the Church is not ready, and will not qualify. Only those believers who have completely given themselves over, and are walking in holiness form the Bride of Christ. This does not bode well with those who like to believe that all believers are the same and will be treated as such; but that is counter to what Scripture indicates.

God Almighty will cause things to occur that will shake things up, purge, sift/sand, and differentiate between the sheep and the goats. “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire” (Matt.3:11,12); “. . . and He will separate them from one another, just as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And He will put the sheep on His right, but the goats on His left (Matt.25:32,33). Now, put into perspective that He was addressing His own people here; He wasn’t talking to unbelievers.

He is talking to His followers in each of these instances. “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heavens.” Now this phrase, “Yet once more,” shows the removal of those things that are shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. . . .   For our God is a consuming fire” (Heb.12:26-29). Many things will play out quite differently from what has been taught in much of the Church. . . . .  much of what has been taught has been done so in error, due to humankind’s efforts to dumb down/massage/gloss over the truth of God’s prophecies.

ISAIAH 13:9-13

9 Behold, the day of the Lord comes, Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, To lay the land desolate; And He will destroy its sinners from it.

10 For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not give their light; The sun will be darkened in its going forth, And the moon will not cause its light to shine.

11 “I will punish the world for its evil, And the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

12 I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold, A man more than the golden wedge of Ophir.

13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, And the earth will move out of her place, In the wrath of the Lord of hosts And in the day of His fierce anger.

The separation of sheep and goats, folks, is not about believers and unbelievers, but about those who call themselves believers but have not lived lives in accordance with what it means to be a follower of Jesus/Yeshua, and those who are true believers/followers of Yeshua Messiah.  God’s Word says that “the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire” (Matt.3:10). These are those referred to as chaff that will be burned up (Matt.3:12). This same weeding-out process is referred to in Matt.13, where Jesus/Yeshua explains in a parable that one must wait till harvest time before pulling out the weeds because there is a risk of weeding out the the wheat with them, thus advising to: “Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn” (Matt.13:30). “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire” (Matt.7:19) confirms this same process. And if that is not enough, I believe it is topped off in the following set of passages from Matt.7: 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”’

From the above set of passages, we see that Jesus/Yeshua makes it very clear that this sifting out of the chaff from the wheat; this separation of the goats from the sheep is left until harvest time, until His very return: “Now when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him . . .” (Matt.25:31,32).

Peter explained: “as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear” (1Pet.1:15-17). Hennessy states: “God required more than just a true knowledge of salvation. He wanted us to put on the new man and live godly lives from then on” ( “You know that you were redeemed from the futile way of life handed down from your ancestors—not with perishable things . . . . Now that you have purified your souls in obedience to the truth, leading to sincere brotherly love, love one another fervently from a pure heart” (1 Pet.1:18,22). It was never God’s intention to merely have people “saved” and stop at that. It was always His heart’s desire to have a people that would commune with Him, walk with Him, just as Adam and Eve did originally in the Garden.

I would concur with Brian Hennessy when he ties in the feasts, and ascertains that, as events unfold, “it means we are coming into the unity that Yeshua prayed for just before his death (John 17:21). Because the next feast to be fulfilled in both our restorations from “Babylon” will be the Feast of Atonement. If that feast results in a large scale Jewish/Israeli awakening to Yeshua, and a cleansing of the body of Messiah – as many anticipate – wouldn’t that bring about a complete spiritual merger of the church and Israel in Messiah? Wouldn’t that truly make us “one flock with one shepherd”? (John 10:16)” (Hennessy, Israel Today, Thursday, March 16, 2017 |  “Are the Restorations. . . ?”).

It is a time to look forward to; “But before all that happens there must come the Day of the Lord with the apostasy and revealing of antichrist” (Hennessy, Israel Today, Thursday, March 16, 2017 |  “Are the Restorations. . . ?”).
