RESPONDING TO COVID IN PRAYER, 20.03.20
Let us be ever so grateful that we can walk through this in peace because of You, when we are in relationship with You. In our gratefulness let us spread that PEACE to those in fear and trembling; let us use this opportunity to reach out to those in distress, for we can, even in isolation, abide by all the guidelines, reaching out by telephone, using online resources, etc. Guide and lead us in the way we should go (Ps.32:8), & let Your Word light up our pathway (Ps.119:105), and may we be present to You/what You might show us, so that we do not miss the opportunities that You may be calling us to.
Thank-You, Heavenly Father, that we can apply “sound wisdom and discretion” (Prov.3:21; Prov.8:12-14) if we follow Your Word. May we do as the Spirit leads. Bring us each to opportunities to show lovingkindness, to give comfort, encourage, and bring hope – the hope of the Gospel/of Jesus/Yeshua. Reveal to believers that perhaps we were brought into the Kingdom for such a time as this? (Es.4:14). Let us remember that Jesus/Yeshua said: “We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work” (John 9:4). May we as believers be faithful to do likewise.
Bring conviction to those with wrong-minded focus, sporting high-minded, sanctimonious attitudes that judge and criticize fellow believers. Provoke in them an understanding that what instead would be helpful/fruit-bearing would be doing Your work/work of the Kingdom. Change their hearts and their focus, that they may put on the garments of salvation/robes of righteousness (Isa.61:10), rather than being self-righteous.
Thank-You, Heavenly Father, that we in this country do have the resources as well as the opportunity to still nip this invasion in the bud, if we simply use common sense and follow the guidelines available through our elected officials and health authorities. Let us do our part in every way possible to prevent this virus from spreading. Let us be mindful and considerate of others, rather than self-sufficient in our faith, and thereby perhaps placing others at risk. I pray for conviction for those not taking it seriously, that a careless attitude is not only foolish and irresponsible, but uncaring/unloving. I pray for a spirit of wisdom to bring common sense. Let us seize the opportunity to demonstrate real living FAITH by helping others through this difficult time. Cause us to remember that “FAITH WITHOUT GOOD WORKS IS DEAD” (JAMES 2:26).
I pray, Father, for Your Holy Spirit to hover over our Prime Minister, each of our Provincial Premiers, Cabinet Ministers, Caucus Members, Legislative Assembly, and all leaders at each level in our Government. Guide and lead them as only You can, bringing wisdom and discernment for each decision they need to make. We are so grateful, Father, that in this great nation of Canada, even in the face of many issues that we face, we still are blessed by many assets, resources, and strongly capable leaders. I pray for You to orchestrate and commandeer and preside over each and every decision made; and may Your Will be done in each issue, decision, and situation. In Jesus/Yeshua’s holy Name. Amen.
