PRAYER GUIDE, “INTRO TO PSALM 119,
PART2, STUDY OF PASSION,” 04.02.20
It is “With my whole heart that I” yearn for that special, & incredibly intimate relationship that the Psalmist, much like Jesus/Yeshua enjoyed with the Father (Ps.119:10).
Unlike Jesus/Yeshua, I know it will be less than perfect, as Paul said, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on”(Phil. 3:12,13), pledging to daily put flesh to death, as Paul says “I die daily”(1 Cor.15:31), to work towards that goal of becoming more and more like You each day.
I want that perfect heart that desires intimate relationship with You, Lord. I therefore pledge to “praise You with uprightness of heart. . . learn Your righteous judgments. … keep Your statutes” (Ps.119:7,8), for I know that it’s not by earthly bread alone that I live, “but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4; Deut.8:3), and “If I abide in You, and Your words abide in me, I will ask what I desire, and it shall be done for me” (John 15:7). “I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word” (Ps.119:15,16), for “Whoever has Your commandments and keeps them, it is they who love You” (John 14:21); and I want to be in that company of believers.
May I never forget Your Word, & may my heart remain in that place of passion, delighting in You, never growing lukewarm, but always desiring to please You, to walk in Your Ways, as I set my heart to press on & not give up, for I want to “know You and the power of Your resurrection, and the fellowship of Your sufferings, that I might be conformed to Your death” (Phil.3:10,11), Lord Jesus/Yeshua, Holy Father, ABBA Father, how I LOVE You.
Thank-You, Abba Father. In Jesus/Yeshua’s Name, I pray. Amen.
