PRAYER GUIDE, “INTRO TO PSALM 119, PART 1,” 03.02.20

STUDY OF PASSION

“With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You” (Ps.119:10,11).

May it never be said of me: “you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth” (Rev. 3:15,16). No! I am filled with passion for You, Lord. I want that walk that King David and Paul illustrate, that walk so close to Jesus/Yeshua’s.  I do embrace that walk wholeheartedly, and want to be able to say, as Jesus/Yeshua, “I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him” (John 8:28,29). I want; I yearn to do only those things which please You, Abba.

Whatever You call me to, Lord, I pledge to put before my own well-being or personal desires aside, for I commit to doing Your Will. I will follow Your Ways, and be able to say as Paul: “I go bound in the spirit to wherever You send me, not knowing the things that will happen to me, even if chains and tribulations await me . . . .  I want to finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20:22-24), and “I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die for the cause of Your Kingdom, for Your Name . . .”(Acts 21:13). I truly am ready to disregard any consequences of following You. I will not fear what man may do unto me; I would rather fear what I would miss out on by failing to respond to Your call, and to walking in that place of passion.

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You”(Ps.119:11). I will “cleanse my way by taking heed according to Your word” (Ps.119:9). I will walk Wholeheartedly in Your Word, walking in the footsteps of Yeshua/Jesus. I surrender every decision, each action and interaction, emotions, desires, thoughts, and my will to You, Father, that I will be “undefiled in the way, walk in the law of the Lord, and keep Your testimonies, seeking You always with my whole heart . . . .”(Ps.119:1-4). I love You, Lord, Abba Father, and pledge to keep Your Word, for I want You to love me, and come to me and make Your home with me” (John 14:23).

I thank You, Father, for the Psalmist’s model for walking in Your Word. I want to be a man/woman “after Your own heart” (I Sam.13:14), and live my life on earth to serve You wholeheartedly, with passion to fulfill whatever purposes, assignments, or mission You have for me.

In Jesus/Yeshua’s Holy Name. Amen.
