Living for the Kingdom of God; walking in the Master’s footsteps, these require a life lived unto God Almighty, TOTAL SURRENDER, the giving up of self-focus, self-will, self-pleasure, self-indulgence. Living for the Kingdom of God includes self-sacrifice, and suffering.

“It is written, ‘My house is to be called a house of prayer.’ You have made it a place of robbers”

And these are not endorsed by society. Nor are they embraced by believers. God’s people for the most part, believe that Christ did all the suffering and sacrifice, therefore they do not need to do any of that. Interestingly enough, that is not what God’s Word says. In fact, it states that “everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Tim.3:12); Peter said: “Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin” (1Pet.4:1; and Jesus/Yeshua, Himself said that “in the world you will have tribulation” (John 16:33). This is so not politically correct, rarely will you find it discussed, or taught in today’s believing circles.

More common in today’s pulpits are people-pleasing tactics and strategies, not faith-challenging, Scripture-based TRUTH. We experience leadership and our spiritual peers, for the most part, tip-toeing around sound doctrine, apologizing for what truthful doctrine may have been spoken, desperately side-stepping any truth spoken by Jesus/Yeshua about Himself, such as: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6), because heaven forbid that one should come across as exclusive, in a world where the standard of inclusivity is being universally ACCEPTED, APPLIED, & REQUIRED..doing everything to avoid offending. There is almost an aura of asphyxiation, and/or paralysis when it comes time to speak such Truths. It is entirely unacceptable.

Living for the Kingdom requires boldness, the ability to fearlessly stand up and take a position on behalf of the faith, for the cause of the Gospel, laying down self at the altar, crucifying all flesh, being able to take unpopular positions whether political, social, or otherwise. When “Jesus went into the house of God and made all those leave who were buying and selling there. He turned over the tables of the men who changed money. He turned over the seats of those who sold doves. 13 He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house is to be called a house of prayer.’ You have made it a place of robbers” (Matt.21:12,13), this would not have been acceptable to the masses then. Nor would it be now.

Putting God the Father, and Jesus/Yeshua at the helm, means relegating self to second place. Putting others before self as well, means putting self last, and this is exactly what is required of God’s true followers:

LUKE 9:23

“If anyone wants to follow Me, he must give up himself and his own desires. He must take up his cross everyday and follow Me.”

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”

Not a very popular notion today; a doctrine pretty much laid aside.

LUKE 9:60,62

60 Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go

and preach the kingdom of God.”

61 And another also said, “Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.”

62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

MATTHEW 19:29,30

29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.

30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

MARK 8:34,35

34 them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
