Let me be “poor in spirit,” (Matt.5:3), that I may realize my sorry state of nothingness before You, aware of my acute need for a Saviour, healer, and deliverer. Let me be completely surrendered, depending only on You. Make me to  “hunger and thirst for righteousness” (Matt.5:6), and therefore walk “with integrity, doing what is right, from a pure heart, and thus speaking truth, not merely with my lips, but  from my heart (Ps.15:2; 24:3,4).

Give me Your Heart, Lord Jesus/Yeshua, and a spirit of meekness, that I will, in fact, mourn for the lost, as I know You do; and I thank-You, Lord that You can change my heart to make it align with Yours.  So I choose to yield to that right now, for I want to overcome all my weaknesses and be a true overcomer; I want all that You have for me. And I know that if I want to be an overcomer I must want “to follow after You, deny myself, take up my cross, and followYou. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for You sake will find it” (Matt.16:24,25). Paul gave us instructions for how to become overcomers: “For if you live according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live” (Rom.8:13).  “I die every day” (1 Cor.15:31). I want to be like Paul, and walk in that path. I vow that I will “Be faithful unto death, so I can receive the crown of life” (Rev.2:10).

I nail all fear, anxiety, doubts, rebellion, and self-reliance to the Cross, and humble myself in complete surrender, that I may walk in Your strength, and courage, fearlessly, and unflinchingly facing whatever persecution (Matt.5:10-12), testing, and challenges await me (James 1:12). I bow in total surrender to place all that I do in Your Hands, willing to leave behind, forsaking all my own desires, even others, if so called, for  “everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for Your  Name’s sake, will receive a hundred times as much, and will inherit eternal life” (Matt.19:29). That is my priority.  I surrender to that willingness that Your Word calls me to, when You say “there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for My sake and for the sake of the Good News, who will not receive a hundred times as much now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and property, along with persecutions,”(Mk.10:29-31), for “many who are first will be last, and the last first,” (Matt.19:30), and I would rather be last in this life, and first in the next.

Teach me to be okay with those injustices which always seem to abound in my life. I nail to the Cross the desire to lash out and bring justice in my own way. I submit/surrender to Your Will, Your Way, and Your Word which calls me to a higher standard, whereby, I hold my peace, wait patiently for Your vindication without fretting over the situation, putting to death all anger and reactivity (Ps.37:6-9), instead of getting caught in the flesh, and opening doors to the enemy.

I choose to walk in victory therefore I will be an overcomer. I thank You, Lord, that I know I will be comforted, and I will ultimately inherit the earth (Matt.5:4,5)(the new earth). I fully intend to live my life in accordance with Your precepts so that I may hear You say “well done, good and faithful servant,” and be one of the overcomers referred to in Rev.2,3,12,21, & many other places. Make my feet walk in the paths of righteousness, and make me to “keep my hands clean, and my heart pure” in all I undertake (Ps.24:3-5), so that I may qualify to “go up to Your  mountain & stand in Your holy place,” and hear Your Words, on that Great Day of the Lord, telling me: “Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful with a little, so I’ll put you in charge of much. Enter into your master’s joy!’” (Matt.25:23). In Jesus/Yeshua’s Name I pray. Amen.
