“Well Done, good and faithful servant . . .”

The Overcomers will hear the Master say, “‘Well done, good and faithful servant!’” (Matt.25:21,23).

And what is it that will enable overcomers to hear those complimentary Words?

READ, and STUDY the following sets of passages with a view to CONNECTING THE DOTS to qualifying as OVERCOMERS:

His disciples came to Him.

2 And He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 “Blessed are those who mourn,

    for they shall be comforted.

5 “Blessed are the meek,

for they shall inherit the earth.

6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

    for they shall be satisfied.

7 “Blessed are the merciful,

for they shall be shown mercy.

8 “Blessed are the pure in heart,

    for they shall see God.

9 “Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they shall be called sons of God.

10 “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me.

12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great! For in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

LUKE 18:29,30:

29 So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,

30 who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.”

1 A psalm of David.

Adonai, who may dwell in Your tent?

Who may live on Your holy mountain?

2 The one who walks with integrity,

who does what is right,

and speaks truth in his heart,

3 who does not slander with his tongue,

    does not wrong his neighbor,

and does not disgrace his friend,

4 who despises a vile person in his eyes,

but honours those who fear Adonai,

who keeps his oath even when it hurts,

    and does not change,

5 who lends his money without usury,

and takes no bribe against the innocent.

One who does these things will never be shaken.

3 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?

Or who may stand in His holy place?

4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,

Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,

Nor sworn deceitfully.

5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord,

And righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,

Who seek Your face. Selah

7 Be still in the presence of the Lord,

and wait patiently for him to act.

Don’t worry about evil people who prosper

or fret about their wicked schemes.

8 Stop being angry!

    Turn from your rage!

Do not lose your temper—

    it only leads to harm.

9 For the wicked will be destroyed,

but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.

JAMES 1:12

“Happy is the one who endures testing, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love Him.”

29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.

30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

MARK 10:

29 “Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News,

30 will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.

31 But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved” (Matt.10:22). And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last” (Lk.13:30). Although we do not earn our salvation, we do very much earn our rewards: “many who are first will be last, and the last first”(Matt.19:30), for “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne” (Rev.3:21).
