ALIYAH in PROPHECY, 04.11.19
The prophet Ezekiel very aptly describes both the scattering (diaspora) and the return (Aliyah) of the Jews: ”I scattered them among the nations, so they were dispersed through the countries. According to their way and their deeds I judged them” (Ezek.36:19). The Jews have been scattered all over the globe for centuries.
Since the end of World War II the formalized acknowledgement of Israel as a nation has made possible the fulfillment of the prophecies for God’s people to return to their land: “Do not fear, for I am with you. I will bring your offspring from the east and gather you from the west” (Isa.43:5). What began gradually, has been accelerated in recent years, as God’s chosen people have been making aliyah from all areas of the globe to which they had been dispersed, to their own country of Israel. “The return of the exiles from the four corners of the earth is of
course a fulfilment of many biblical prophecies, thus confirming the reliability of the Scriptures, and is a ‘banner to the nations’ of the imminence of God’s rule through the Jewish Messiah” (November 3, 2019 | Charles Gardner): “It will also come about in that day that my Lord will again redeem—a second time with His hand—the remnant of His people . . .” (Isa 11.11).
In recent years, Israel has become prosperous through resource development on several levels, from technological inventions, including the world’s highest solar tower, to recent oil and gas finds. Greatly expanding agricultural efforts have been made possible by the development of highly sophisticated water recycling and desalination plants. Besides proliferous tree planting, green houses produce a great variety of vegetables, making Israel quite self-sufficient in their own food supply, as well as exporting such products. Militarily, Israel has one of the most advanced military systems with the highest technological development. This is a fulfillment of the prophecies:
8 “‘But you, mountains of Israel, you will shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit for My people Israel; for their return is near.
9 For behold, I am for you. I will turn to you. You will be tilled and sown.
10 I will settle a large population upon you—the whole house of Israel, all of it. The cities will be inhabited. The desolate places will be built up.
11 I will multiply man and beast upon you. They will increase and be fruitful. I will cause you to be inhabited as you were before. I will do better for you than at your beginnings. You will know that I am Adonai.
12 I will cause people, my people Israel, to walk upon you. They will possess you, and you will be their inheritance.
32 “Now learn the parable from the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.
33 So also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, at the door.
34 Amen, I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things happen.
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.
36 But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven nor the Son, except the Father alone.
37 “For just as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
See, it really is not necessary for us to have specific dates in order to have a fairly accurate idea of when the time is on the horizon. Of course we are not to attempt to predict the exact time, date, or year; and why would the Lord give that to us ahead of time, so we could just wait till that date was tomorrow, then suddenly decide to get our lives in order? How stupid would that be? God wants us to live His Way as a lifestyle, just as much as any parent wants their child to follow the rules of the home consistently, not just when the parent is watching.
24 They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led away captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
Please note from the above that:
- Jesus/Yeshua reinforces the OT prophecies about the land becoming prosperous and provides a sign in relation to His return.
- Nothing will change (Matt.24:35) what He just decreed.
- It is upon the heels of this present period of prosperity that the Tribulation Period will be unleashed (Lk.21:24) because it is very clear from
Zechariah 12: 9-11:
9 It will happen in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
10 “Then I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication, when they will look toward Me whom they pierced. They will mourn for him as one mourns for an only son and grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for a firstborn.
11 In that day there will be a great mourning in Jerusalem, mourning like Hadad-rimmon in the valley of Megiddo.

Ezekiel 36 and 37 have been partially fulfilled, with the completion pending for the time of the Millennial Kingdom, before which Jesus/Yeshua as the Lion of Judah will return to bring justice on this earth, “for the nation and the kingdom which will not serve you will perish—those nations will be utterly ruined” (Isa.60:12); “. . . and in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,”The Deliverer shall come out of Zion. . . .” (Rom.11:26). Everyone will know when Messiah returns; there will be no need for speculation, as some misguided ones seem to think, for every eye will see:
“Look, He is coming with the clouds,
and every eye shall see Him,
even those who pierced Him.
And all the tribes of the earth
shall mourn because of Him.
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says Adonai Elohim, “Who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty!”
Although, God punished the Jews by scattering them, Yahweh’s covenant (“On that day Adonai cut a covenant with Abram” – Gen.15:18) remains irreversible. Yahweh granted a larger parcel of land than what has yet been acquired, “from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates River” (Gen.15:18). This will only be fully realized at the time of Messiah’s return, when He will rule and reign over all the earth, from Jerusalem, during the 1,000-year reign known as the Millennium. As Gardner points out in his article, (Israel Today, “The Great Sign of Our Age . . .” November 3, 2019 | Charles Gardner), ”remember, when you pray ‘Hallowed be your name’, that you are also pleading for the return of the exiles in order that God’s reputation will no longer be profaned. And this great phenomenon will clear the path for his kingdom to come! . . . In short, Aliyah is the last great sign prior to the return of the Lord Jesus (Matt 24.32f, Luke 21.24).”
