Father let us remember the fallen – those who willingly and bravely sacrificed their lives for our country, for our freedom, for the lifestyle that we all enjoy in this beautiful nation called CANADA today.

May we live in daily reminder, that were it not for those who gave their lives, our lives could be much different than they are; perhaps the quality of our lives would be much less than what it is.

How grateful we should be. ….  Father forgive us for taking for granted what we have. Thank You that You selected us for Your blessings, for “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17). Thank-You for considering us. Just like the Israelites, You chose us as a nation You would bless, but “The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples” (Deut.7:7); not because our nation or land was better than any others, or any more deserving; only because in Your sovereign will that is what You chose to do.

Forgive us for failing to honour You; for failing to be grateful; for failing to give You the GLORY in all that we enjoy, have, and benefit from.

Let us remember the families of the fallen today. BLESS them, Lord, the many who still hurt from having lost loved ones – sons, daughters, husbands, fathers …..   And in the midst of their pain/painful memories please bring them Your PEACE, that supernatural peace that passes all understanding (Phil.4:7). May Your LOVE and COMFORT rest upon each one, for ”The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace” (Ps.29:11).

Thank-You, Almighty Father, in Your Son’s Holy Name. Amen.
