LAST DAYS DECEPTION PROPHESIED, 06.11.19
There has always been deception, of course. But deception at higher and more intensified levels has been prophesied from days of old for these last days, especially as we head into the onset of the Great Tribulation.
More and more, we hear of accusations of false prophets all around. Of course it is imperative that we should each be checking the sources and the content of all such teachings, using God’s Word as our Measuring Stick, and not merely taking at face value whatever someone on youtube or some other site is declaring. We must study the Scriptures for ourselves, ask the Holy Spirit for discernment, and determine thereby whether those teachings are true or false.
Jesus/Yeshua teaches us that His Word is the means by which we determine/separate truth/fiction, right/wrong, good/evil (John 12:48-50; John 5:19-47). We are not called to judge others; but we ARE CALLED to discern, judge, and be selective regarding practices, doctrine, actions, and behaviours that fit/do not fit within the parameters of God’s will, ways, and commandments.
Familiarizing ourselves with Words of Prophecy from God’s Word (not from youtube, websites, God TV, or any other source) that warn of things to come which include deception/false teachings; this is the strategy provided for us by God’s Word by which we may avoid getting caught in the traps of deception. Many wonder how to differentiate. This is how to differentiate: by consulting God’s Word. What did the prophets of old warn us about? Why did they warn us? “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim.3:16,17), “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Pet.1:19-21).
Study the following passages with a view to identifying those passages which are speaking to things you can see now. STUDY CORNER will probe those with more detail in STUDY GUIDE.
30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.”
5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you.
6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many.
7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet.
8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.
21 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it.
22 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
23 But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.
2 TIMOTHY 3:
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 PETER 1:
19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,
21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
6 But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
9 “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
13 “I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.
15 Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
16 Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.
20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.
21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.
22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.
23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.
It is evident that at the end of these events, God will wield His Heavy Hand and JUDGMENT & JUSTICE WILL BE DONE, as He “will give to each one of you according to your works.” Each one must decide which side of that Hand of Judgment they will be on.
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ”
If someone hears God’s Word but does not apply it, it is not possible to “overcome.” That is why He continually repeats the line throughout Revelation, “let he who has ears to hear, hear what the Spirit says . ..” – i.e., if you really hear, take it to heart, and act upon it.
