MARK 4:23

MARK 4:23. “IF ANYONE HAS EARS TO HEAR, LET HIM HEAR.”

“If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”

MANY PLACES IN SCRIPTURE, WE READ THIS STATEMENT. WHAT EXACTLY DOES IT MEAN?

JESUS/YESHUA HAD JUST GIVEN A TEACHING ON THE PARABLES, SPECIFICALLY THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER, GOING ON TO TALK ABOUT THE UNDERSTANDING OF PARABLES.

HE GOES ON TO TALK ABOUT NOT HIDING A LIGHT UNDER A BASKET, BUT RATHER TO SHINE OUT WHAT IS THERE.

SO WHEN HE SAYS “IF ANYONE HAS EARS TO HEAR, LET HIM HEAR,” HE IS INTENDING THAT WHAT NEEDS TO BE HEARD AND ATTENDED TO, IF ONE IS ABLE TO GRASP AND UNDERSTAND, IT SHOULD NOT ONLY BE HEARD, BUT ATTENDED TO.

BELIEVERS NEED TO BE MORE ATTENTIVE TO THOSE THINGS THEY KNOW AND UNDERSTAND. IF WE HEAR IT, PAY ATTENTION TO IT! WE SHOULD NOT JUST LET THINGS GO IN ONE EAR AND OUT THE OTHER. WE SHOULD BE IN ATTENDANCE IN THAT WE NOT ONLY HEAR, BUT DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT WHICH WE COMPREHEND AND ARE AWARE OF.
