HALLOWE’EN MESSAGE, 31.10.19
WHAT ABOUT HALLOWE’EN? 29.10.19
What about Hallowe’en? Is it okay for believers in Jesus Christ/Yeshua Ha-Mashiach to celebrate Hallowe’en? How should believers respond to Hallowe’en?
“When you celebrate Hallowe’en, you are engaging in the practice of calling on the dead (Deut.18:11), known as Necromancy (Jim Staley, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNepPiAqN10&t=115s ). “We are taking pagan feasts from Egypt, melting it down, and expecting God to be okay with it . . . . For a Christian to quote All Saints Day as a valid Christian Holiday . .. .. we know it comes from paganism . . .” explains Staley. Although All Saints Day was the name given it by the Catholic Church, the Catholic Church endorsed many pagan holidays, and practices; but to God this is an abomination,” says Staley. John Ramirez, in his “Halloween Warning,” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhWKyePjV8o&t=33s ), speaks likewise of Hallowe’en.
God’s Word is very clear about all of this. “You are not to eat any meat with the blood still in it, nor are you to use enchantments, or practice sorcery . . . . I am Adonai” (Lev.19:26). Many of the pagan sacrifices involved cutting themselves, sacrificing their own children, drinking blood of animals, or even humans. “Furthermore, he made his children pass through the fire in the valley of Ben-hinnom and practiced witchcraft, divination and sorcery, and consulted ghosts and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of Adonai” (2 Chron.33:6). “I will cut off sorceries from your land, and you will have no more diviners” (Micah 5:11), “For there is one God and there is one Mediator between God and men . . . Messiah Yeshua” (1 Tim.2:5). They “practiced divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in Adonai’s eyes, to provoke Him” (2 Kings 17:17). These passages refer to such the pagan practices which the Israelites began participating in, all of which are preliminary worship practices related to Hallowe’en. God commanded the Israelites to stop these behaviours completely.
Costumes and dressing up began with the Celtic ceremonies, wherein they dressed up to scare the demons away. They believed that if they dressed up like a ghost or a goblin, demons would be scared away. Trick or treating comes from the “Samhain” holiday, where they would put food out to appease the demons/ghosts in the hope that they would leave them alone (Staley, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNepPiAqN10&t=115s ). In Kenya, Africa, this is a very serious time, not a fun time. The witch doctors are given money to protect people from having spells, curses, etc. placed on them; they put candles out to scare the demons away; jack-o-lanterns emulate this. It is rather ironical as well as alarming that believers would come to rationalize and justify that somehow it would be okay to participate in a holiday whose roots are so evidently demonic.
“We celebrate the cross; we celebrate salvation; we do not celebrate these pagan holidays. . .. .” Ramirez explains (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhWKyePjV8o&index=33&list=PLFExJF2KBSH3Qp1pabagh2TMTF2a2-lGZ) . “Our job is to speak truth . . .. . let’s stop mixing this whole situation of the church with the world. . . . buying candy and putting wrappers around it and saying Jesus is in it . . . .. Jesus is not in Hallowe’en . . . let’s stop playing games . . . I played the Devil’s Game. . .. my favourite day was Hallowe’en.” John Ramirez feels very strongly about the Satanic content of Hallowe’en. He spent twenty-five years being involved in witchcraft/Satanism, living as a witch, warlock, and Satanist, and knows just how evil Hallowe’en is. John Ramirez got married on Oct. 31, and demons were in attendance. “When you celebrate Hallowe’en, you open doors to the Devil . .. … I know when I was in witchcraft for 25 years, we put witchcraft on people’s doors . . . . . once you invite these things into your house, the Devil will come into your house . . . . the Devil knows how to play into the arena of ignorance . . . When you celebrate Hallowe’en in the Church, you are actually bringing curses onto these children,” John Ramirez states. It is a very serious matter; it is not child’s play. “God does not understand or accept sin; so when you practice these things, you are in rebellion. All Saints Day is held in honour of the dead; this has nothing to do with Jesus. . . . the Devil loves ignorance, because they don’t know . . . . When you put a costume on your child, you open the door to the Devil being able to change that child’s identity . . . . .” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhWKyePjV8o&index=33&list=PLFExJF2KBSH3Qp1pabagh2TMTF2a2-lGZ . “This does not bring glory to God; it does not honour God. A lot of churches today are in serious ignorance of these realities . . . if you don’t know, you don’t close the doors . . . . it’s time to repent. . . . not celebrate something that does not honour God.”
9 Now a man named Simon had been practicing magic in the city and astonishing the people of Samaria, saying he was someone great. 10 They all were paying special attention to him, saying, “This man is the power of God that is called ‘Great.’” 11 And they kept paying attention to him, because for a long time he had astonished them with his magical arts. 12 But when they believed Philip proclaiming the Good News about the kingdom of God and the name of Messiah Yeshua, both men and women were immersed. 13 Even Simon himself believed; and after being immersed, he continued with Philip. And when he saw signs and great miracles happening, he was continually amazed.14 Now when the emissaries in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the message of God, they sent Peter and John to them. 15 They came down and prayed for them to receive the Ruach ha-Kodesh. 16 For He had not yet come upon them; they had only been immersed in the name of the Lord Yeshua. 17 Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Ruach ha-Kodesh. 18 Now when Simon saw that the Ruach ha-Kodesh was given through the laying on of hands by the emissaries, he offered them money, 19 saying, “Give this power to me, too—so that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Ruach ha-Kodesh.” 20 Peter said to him, “May your silver go to ruin, and you with it—because you thought you could buy God’s gift with money! 21 You have no part or share in this matter, because your heart is not right before God. 22 Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be pardoned. 23 For I see in you the poison of bitterness and the bondage of unrighteousness!” 24 Simon replied, “Pray for me, so that none of what you have said may come upon me.” 25 So when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, proclaiming the Good News to many Samaritan villages.
These passages from Acts are congruent with what John Ramirez explains. I encourage people to watch not only this video, but other youtube videos with his many teachings and his testimony (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFExJF2KBSH3Qp1pabagh2TMTF2a2-lGZ ), which verify the lifestyle that he lived before coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ. There is much to learn about demonization from this man’s experience. And if Hallowe’en is a demonic holiday, which seems quite evidently so, why would any believer in Messiah want to partake of it? “Now the deeds of the flesh are clear: sexual immorality, impurity, indecency, idolatry, witchcraft . . .” (Gal.5:19,20).
“And many of those who practiced magic arts brought their books together in a heap, burning them before everyone” (Acts 19:19). “For our
struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Eph.6:12). “When Saul inquired of Adonai, Adonai did not answer, neither by dreams nor by Urim or prophets. Then Saul said to his courtiers, “Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go to her and inquire through her.” So his courtiers said to him, “Behold, there is a woman that is a medium at En-dor” (1 Sam.28:6,7); and we know it did not go well for Saul . .
Not much has changed since these examples. The church subscribes to/sanctions many pagan practices from the politically correct New Age movement. But what would God say?
God would say to the churches, just as He said to the Israelites:
9 When you enter the land Adonai your God is giving you, you are not to learn to do the abominations of those nations.
10 There must not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or a fortune-teller, soothsayer, omen reader, or sorcerer,
11 or one who casts spells, or a medium, a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.
12 For whoever does these things is an abomination to Adonai, and because of these abominations Adonai your God is driving them out from before you.
13 You are to be blameless before Adonai your God.
14 “For these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to soothsayers and fortune-tellers, but as for you, Adonai your God will not allow you to do so”
Participating in Hallowe’en by handing out candy, by dressing up, taking children out for trick or treating, attending Hallowe’en parties, may all appear on the surface to be very innocent, merely good clean, social fun, but the origins are girded with occultic, paganism, all of which open doors to the demonic, to Satan, the Enemy of our soul.
Take heed, believers. Slam the door in the Enemy’s face, instead of welcoming Him. Turn his weapons back against himself; thrust him through with the Sword of the Spirit, instead of naively playing into his hands. Wake up, sleeping church; political correctness is the Devil’s playground.
