30.09.19, SIGNS of the TIMES
There are signs given throughout Scripture of what God’s people need to attend to. Some of these are already signalling to us that the time of the Great Tribulation is near at hand; others are just at the cusp of being realized. Let’s look at some of these.
8 And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. [There have been reports of those who have recently made such claims. Because they have not received great acclaim nor captured a great following, we do not necessarily all hear of them or take them very
seriously. There will likely be those to come who will attract more attention & a greater following].
9 But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” [This has been ongoing for some time, so many do not consider it that significant; however, the fact that it has intensified in the nations surrounding Israel as well as in relation to relations with Israel, such as with Iran, it is not to be overlooked as significant].
10 Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. [Certainly the frequency and intensification of natural disasters throughout the globe has increased. Signs in the heavens will come during the latter part of the tribulation.]
12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. [Although this is not yet rampant on our continent, it certainly is happening on other parts of the globe. Beginnings of it are manifesting in the form of persecution through laws that require those who do not support abortion or euthanasia in the medical field to go against their beliefs & comply with federal law. Also manifesting are such occurrences as Pastors being legally prosecuted for refusing to perform gay marriage, examples of a bakery persecuted for refusing to do a wedding cake for a gaycouple. These are just the beginnings of this type of persecution in our part of the Western World.]
13 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. [We can use these occasions to testify of our God, His Truth, & our faith in Him & Who He is. We are called to use these incidents to declare and stand for Truth, not to wimpier, whine, complain & hide in fear. That is not what the First Century believers did.]
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. [This is happening in many other nations where there is not the freedom to worship, as we still have here.]
11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. [Open your eyes, folks. This is already rampant.]
12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. [Legislation condoning immoral activities/practices of various sorts has already been undertaken globally – euthanasia, abortion, drug-use, sexual practices are being endorsed on a level unseen, the list will go on until there are no illegal social practices . . . In addition to actual lawlessness, the majority of believers are far from walking in God’s Ways; obedience is negated as legalism; and God’s Grace has been reduced to an excuse for lawlessness. Lukewarm > cold hearts is the majority state of affairs in the christian sector, and Rev. 3:15,16 tells us what God will do with that!]
13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. [God’s people need to get themselves in right standing. Believers living at this time have no excuse, as perhaps in days of old when the masses were illiterate, uninformed. Today’s believers will be held accountable at a higher level. We are held accountable to the level of our information and comprehension. People are warned that they might be prepared].
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. [Very few outposts of isolation remain; and the Lord is providing ways for all to be informed by the end of the age.]
Israel, of course, is the centre of God’s Kingdom, serving therefore, as a primary time/event marker for us. Let what is happening be our guidepost:
Lk.21:20 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.”
2 “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. 3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.
Israel is being threatened daily. The armies have not yet united and coalesced; however, all the pre-formatting is lining up.
Even today’s failed election results provide an open door to the next sign to which we are called to attendance- I.e., the ultimate PEACE AGREEMENT which will set in motion the foundation for the GREAT TRIBULATION, for we are advised that shortly after the making of the Peace Agreement, (“Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week,” Dan.9:27) which is orchestrated by the one-world, global leader/Antichrist, “But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.” So the antichrist global leader who makes this peace agreement, very soon violates and defiles that agreement, and that is what kickstarts the momentum of the Great Tribulation. Now these things are presently being formulated, and could be put in place and enforced at any time.
2 Thess.2:3,4 advises us that we should “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first,” (and this is already under way); “and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God” (this, of course, yet to be realized, will occur after the violation of the peace agreement and once launched into the tribulation). Jesus/Yeshua, also makes reference to this when He states: “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand)” (Matt.24:15), and this we are advised to watch for, along with other passages that tell us that the antichrist will make a statue of himself that all will be required to bow down to, etc., an abomination which desecrates the rebuilt temple.
As it pertains to the rebuilding of the temple, there are many passages which make reference to a rebuilding of the temple. It is unclear as to whether the temple will be rebuilt prior to the actual tribulation or during the tribulation’s early stages, but there is evidence that much preparation has already been made (and is presently being undertaken) for the building of a temple. This temple will be assembled and rebuilt most likely as soon as the peace agreement is in place, for that peace agreement will endorse the temple sacrifices which will also be reinstated at that time.
These events are very near, as the stage is set; they could occur at any point in time.
