PROPHETIC STUDIES 2, 24.09.19
“We are the first generation who has lived to see the fulfillment of the prophecy of Jerusalem being returned to its position as the capital of Israel,” Amir Tsarfati points out (AmirTsarfati, “Why Should Christians Support Israel”). We can know with certainty that we are in the last days of the end times. “I have chosen Jerusalem that my name may be there, and I have chosen David to be over my people Israel” (2 Chron.6:6). So much prophecy being fulfilled . . . .
There is a fullness of time that is swiftly approaching: “a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”; “and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins” (Rom.11:25-27). God has a set time” and when that time arrives, make no mistake, the scrolls will be opened and God’s wrath released upon the earth: 1“Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, 4 and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. 5 And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” 6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne. 8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, 10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” 11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honour and glory and blessing!” 13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honour and glory and might forever and ever!” 14 And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped,” (Rev.5:1-14), just as the Scriptures declare. These Scriptures will be fulfilled at the time of the launching of the Tribulation.
And following this 7-year period of Great Tribulation, (established by many Biblical teachers/scholars, from Daniel’s “70 weeks” in Dan.9:24,27) “in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever, (Dan.2:44).
We are making our way towards the Tribulation, and then on to the Millennial Reign of our King, when “He will be great and will be called Ben-Elyon. Adonai Elohim will give Him the throne of David, His father. He shall reign over the house of Jacob for all eternity, and His kingdom will be without end” (Lk.1:32,33). Because we should be excited about, and anticipating with delight the signs and signals of His Glorious Coming, for only then can these days of lawlessness be brought to an end, “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all
power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth” (2 Thess.2:7-12).
The Scriptures tell us that “Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those” (Heb.9:28). We should therefore be full of expectation, full of joy and hope. Those of us who truly know Him have nothing to fear (1 John 4:17,18); we only need rejoice and wait with joy, ready for the great appearing: “waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13).
