23.09.19, PROPHETIC STUDIES:  APPROACHING TRIBULATION

INTRODUCTION:

THIS WEEK STUDY CORNER WILL LOOK AT WHERE WE ARE ON GOD’S PROPHETIC CALENDAR. WE WILL LOOK AT SELECTED SEGMENTS OF SCRIPTURE THAT PROVIDE USEFUL INFORMATION FOR UNDERSTANDING THAT WHICH IS SPEEDILY APPROACHING.

THERE IS NO NEED TO LOOK TO PROPHETS OF THE DAY TO FIND OUT WHERE WE ARE ON GOD’S PROPHETIC TIME SCALE, OR TO FIND OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING NEXT/WILL HAPPEN. WHATEVER WE NEED TO KNOW HAS BEEN PROVIDED IN GOD’S WORD. WE NEED TO STUDY WHAT WE’VE ALREADY BEEN GIVEN, AND BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, ASK HIM TO REVEAL TO US THE RIGHT INTERPRETATION OF HIS WORD.

In numerous Biblical prophecies, there are more than one time periods being addressed. Often there are layers of time periods required prior to their final fulfillment, with partial fulfillment being realized in certain time periods.

Jeremiah 30 exemplifies this: “behold, the days are coming,” declares

Matthew 24:
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),

Adonai, “when I will return My people Israel and Judah from exile,” declares Adonai. “I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they will possess it” (Jer.30:3). God’s people have been exiled at 4 different times: Babylon (423-372 BCE), Median/Persia (372-348 BCE), Greece (371-140 BCE), and Edam/Rome (69 CE – modern times); you can refer for details @ chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/3671017/Jewish/Discover-the-Four-Exiles-of-the-Jewish-People.htm. It is now, in this present day, that we are witnessing the realization of that prophecy. We are quickly approaching the ultimate, and final completion which will be realized when Messiah returns to set up His Kingdom on earth.

As we speed through these last days, prophecies are being fulfilled before our eyes, and these are the forerunners to the tribulation soon to be launched. Yes, the world will surely be launched into the Great Tribulation, the time of Jacob’s Trouble, through which Adonai will bring in His people/remnant: “We heard a sound of trembling, of dread—there is no shalom. 6 Ask now, and see whether a man can give birth. Why do I see every man with his hands on his loins, like a woman giving birth? Why have all faces turned pale? 7 Oy! For that day is monumental. There will be none like it—a time of trouble for Jacob! Yet out of it he will be saved.” (Jer.30:5-7). Jesus/Yeshua addressed this (confirming that this had most definitely not yet been fulfilled):

Matthew 24:

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),

16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.

18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.

19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!

20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.

21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

When Jesus talked about the generation that will not pass away (Matt.24:32-34), that will see the fig tree come back to life, he was referring to the generation that lives during the time that Israel comes back to life – the rebirth of Israel as a nation – this is the time during which the tribulation will occur (Amir Tsarfati, “The Generation That Shall Not Pass Away,”).

GOD will bring in His remnant through the tribulation. His Word makes that very clear:  “Seek from the scroll of Adonai, and read! Not one of them will be missing; none will lack its mate. For His mouth commanded it, and His Ruach gathered them. He cast the lot for them, and His hand divided it out to them with the line. They will possess it forever, and dwell in it from generation to generation” (Isa.34:16,17).

During this time, He will deal with/bring judgment upon the nations which have persecuted Israel:  Draw near, O nations, to hear, and listen, O peoples! Let the earth hear, and all it contains, the world, and all its offspring! For Adonai is enraged at all the nations, and furious at all their armies. He will utterly destroy them. He will give them over to slaughter. So their slain will be thrown out, and the stench of their corpses will rise, and the hills will be drenched with their blood. Then all the host of heaven will dissolve, and the skies will be rolled up like a scroll – so all their array will wither away, like a leaf drooping from a vine, like a fig shriveling from a fig tree. For My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens. See, it will come down upon Edom, upon the people I have devoted to judgment. The sword of Adonai is filled with blood, gorged with fat— the blood of lambs and goats, the fat of kidneys of rams. For Adonai has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom . ..  For Adonai has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the hostility against Zion” (Isa.34:1-6,8).

“Seek from the scroll of Adonai, and read! Not one of them will be missing; none will lack its mate. For His mouth commanded it, and His Ruach (HOLY SPIRIT) gathered them. He cast the lot for them, and His hand divided it out to them with the line. They will possess it forever, and dwell in it from generation to generation” (Isa.34:16,17).

For those who have swallowed up the lies of false teachers who say these things have been fulfilled …. I’m not sure how anyone could substantiate such a claim. But this is what is to come. This is not negotiable. Yahweh is proclaiming His plan for judgment and there is no indication that anyone’s intercession will prevent His Justice/Judgment; in fact, as we continue in the coming days with this topic, it will be evident that the Great Day of the Lord is proclaimed repeatedly. Nothing will intercept this this occurrence; He is simply giving His people a warning so they can be prepared. This is a prophecy of judgment, a sure thing at hand to come. The Sword of God’s Justice and Judgment will be realized through the process and the grande finale of the Great Tribulation.
