PRAYER GUIDE, “DESPERATION,” 07.08.19
CRYING OUT IN THE STORMS OF LIFE
Oh, Lord, I am drowning in my sorrow. The storms are encompassing me & I can’t find my way . . .
Answer me speedily, O Lord; My spirit fails! Do not hide Your face from me, Lest I be like those who go down into the pit. Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You. Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies; In You I take shelter.
Bow down Your ear, O Lord, hear me; For I am poor and needy. Preserve my life, for You are my God; Save me, Father, for I am Your servant who trusts in You! Be merciful to me, O Lord, For I cry to You all day long. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; And attend to the voice of my supplications. In this day of trouble I am calling upon You, believing You will answer me.
Pluck my feet out of the net as I cry out to You, for I know that You are the Lord, the God of all flesh, & nothing is too hard for You. Hear my prayer, O Lord, Give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, And in Your righteousness. Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me, For I am desolate and afflicted. The troubles of my heart have enlarged; Bring me out of my distresses! Look on my affliction and my pain, And forgive all my sins.
Father, without You, i can not make it through this. But I know You are with me. You have even gone before me; You will not leave me nor forsake me. I thank You, Heavenly Father, that in this time of trouble I can count on You. You shall hide me in Your pavilion; In the secret place of Your tabernacle You shall hide me; You shall set me high upon a rock.
I know that I would give up if I did not have the faith i do have in You. I thank-You, Lord, that You have taught me to trust in You; I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see Your goodness. I thank You that Your Word assures me to Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord! I thank-You, Heavenly Father, that You will give strength to Your people; You will bless Your people with peace. Thank-You, Father, that Your Word assures me that even When I pass through the waters, You are with me; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow me. When I walk through the fire, I shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch me. I need not fear, for You have redeemed me; You have called me by my name; I am Yours.
Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord; I know You hear my voice. I know that Your ears are attentive & do hear my supplications; so I wait for You, Lord, my soul waits, And in Your Word I find my hope. I will wait on You, & have courage, for You are strengthening my heart. Thank-You, Holy Father, in Jesus/Yeshua’s Name. Amen.
1)DIRECT &/or PARAPHRASED QUOTES ARE IN ITALICS, TO MAKE THEM EASIER FOR YOU TO FIND/REFER TO.
2)PASSAGES ARE NOT QUOTED IN ANY ORDER, & THIS IS DELIBERATE: (a) WE NEED TO BECOME FAMILIAR ENOUGH WITH GOD’S WORD THAT WE CAN INTEGRATE COMPONENTS WITH EASE, WHEREVER/WHENEVER THEY FIT. (b) TO CREATE A NATURAL FLOW. SCRIPTURES MUST BE INSERTED AS THEY FIT WITHIN THE TOPIC/THEME, NOT CONTRIVED & FORCE-FITTED.
3)THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO BE SOME FORMULATED SCRIPTED LITURGICAL PRAYER, BUT RATHER TO EXEMPLIFY HOW PRAYER CAN BE A NATURAL OUT-FLOW FROM GOD’S WORD, CARRYING MEANING, IMPACT, & POWER, WHILE ENCOMPASSING GOD’S WILL.
