12.08.19, THERE’S MORE . . . .
There’s more than just being “SAVED” . . . .
Are you one of those Christians who has been “saved” for years, attend Church faithfully, but rarely if ever have given much thought into anything beyond that?
Is salvation merely a means to an end? A ticket to Heaven? A way to avoid Hell?
There’s more . . .. SO MUCH MORE!
Jesus/Yeshua gave to His disciples, and instructed them to live in His Peace, love, & joy.
When Jesus/Yeshua said, “Peace I give unto you; My Peace I leave with you . . . “ (John 14:27), He was intending for His followers to embrace and live in a state of love/joy/Peace. He didn’t ask us to sing about it; He gave it to us to have in our hearts. Didn’t He say, “abide in My love” (John 15:9); and doesn’t that mean continually? I don’t hear anything here about talking about it, singing about it, etc. “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love . . .” (John 15:10); & then He explains that He has told us these things so that His “joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11). There’s so much more than just hearing about love, joy, & peace; singing about love, joy, & peace. . . . there’s living it, and that, folks, is FREEDOM & VICTORY!
Beyond salvation, there’s a place of passion: “Delight yourself also in the Lord,” (Ps.37:4) and He can thereafter change the desires of your heart to become aligned with HIS desires.
There’s more, too, when we desire to KNOW HIM, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3); and we see from Jeremiah 9:24 that this is His desire: “let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight.”
When we “press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” (Phil.3:14), like Paul says: “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection .. .”
When we truly thirst for HIM, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God,” (Ps.42:1,2); when we “dwell in the secret place” (Ps.91:1)we gain the privilege of “abiding under the shadow of the Almighty” & He becomes our refuge & our fortress (Ps.91:2) & we receive special coverage and protection of the Most High: “He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler” (Ps.91:4).
It is when we live in that place of passion, intimacy and daily surrender that we truly benefit. Only then do we experience on a daily basis, the love/joy/peace that Jesus/Yeshua came to give us. This is an inner Peace/Joy/Love that is beyond emotions, & transcends all life’s circumstances. This is not a fleeting little emotional snippet of peace, etc., but a lasting state of being. It is an amazing secret place of peace & protection. It requires a life lived in surrender. It is the heart that cries out from the depths of its being, “Lord, I want to know You, the power of Your resurrection, the fellowship of Your suffering, & be made conformable unto Your death,” (Phil.3:10).
There’s More; SO MUCH MORE than just being “saved” . . . .
