ACTS 18:9,10

9 “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; 10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.”

THESE PASSAGES REPRESENT A VERY IMPORTANT PRINCIPLE. IF GOD TELLS US WE NEED NOT FEAR; IF GOD TELLS US THAT HE WILL NOT ALLOW ANY HARM TO COME TO US IN A GIVEN SITUATION, WE CAN KNOW THAT IT WILL BE SO.

PAUL WAS UNDER THREAT FOR SHARING THE GOSPEL. MANY WERE CURSING HIM. BUT PUAL HAD BEEN GIVEN CLEAR DIRECTIVES FROM THE LORD BY HIS HOLY SPIRIT THAT THIS WAS WHAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DOING, AND THAT GOD WOULD TAKE CARE OF HIM, AND NO HARM WOULD COME TO HIM.

SO GOD CAME TO HIM BY A VISION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT TO COMFORT AND CONFIRM FOR HIM THAT HE WAS UNDER GOD’S WATCHFUL EYE AND NO HARM WOULD COME TO HIM.

WHEN WE ARE OBEDIENT TO DO WHATEVER THE LORD HAS ASSIGNED, WE ARE UNDER HIS PROTECTIVE CARE. IF HE COMES TO US, AS WITH PAUL, AND ADVISES US THAT NO ONE CAN HARM US, WE CAN COUNT ON HIS WORD. WE CAN REST ASSURED, AS PAUL, THAT GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF US. THEREFORE, WE NEED NOT FEAR.
