Rabbi Greg Hershberg, Psalm 24, May 12, 2018,

Curtis Mayfield, “People Get Ready,”

The King is coming! We are in the last days. All world events point us to it; and just as Yeshua said: “when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place” (Lk.21:31,32).

Everything is pointing towards the time of Jacob’s troubles (Jer.30:7), referred to by Yeshua as the time of tribulation, after which Yeshua will return and His Millennial Kingdom will begin:

“then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matt.24:21). “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Matt.24:29-31).

“It will come about in that day, Adonai will punish the host of heaven on high, and the kings of the earth on the earth. They will be gathered together, like prisoners in the Pit, and will be shut up in the prison, and after many days be punished” (Isa.24:21,22). This prophecy corresponds to Rev. 20:11-15, whereby it is foretold that there will be universal judgment upon Yeshua’s return, before the beginning of the Millennial Reign.

“Psalm 24 is all about when Yeshua returns to the earth . . . .  The righteous remnant of Israel will be with Him, and the saved and redeemed

Ref. Greg Hershberg, Psalm 24 Message

Gentiles will be with Him, and He’ll touch down on the Mount of Olives, just where He ascended from, and across the Kidron Valley, and He will go through the King’s Gate, and He will kick the Enemy out, and He will start His reign” (Hershberg, Psalm 24, May 12, 2018, youtube). Scripture reveals that when Yeshua returns, He will reign for a thousand years (Rev. 20:2-4); this is what has become known as the Millennial Kingdom; “He shall rule them with a rod of iron” (Rev.2:27; Ps.2:9).

He warns that “it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Lk.21:35,36). “Jesus is Saviour to a lot of people; but He’s not ‘Lord,’ and He has to be ‘Lord,’ and that’s what this is all about,” (Hershberg, Psalm 24, May 12, youtube), for “The earth is Adonai’s and all that fills it—the world, and those dwelling on it. For He founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the rivers” (Ps.24:1,2). “He is the creator and sustainer of the world and He’s just coming back to claim what’s His” (Hershberg, Psalm 24, May 12, 2018, youtube).

Psalm 24  (NKJV)

The King of Glory and His Kingdom

A Psalm of David.

24 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the waters.

Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive blessing from the Lord,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face. Selah

Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah

Hershberg points out (from the above Scriptures) that “There are some prerequisites – those with clean hands and pure hearts; their actions have to be righteous” (Hershberg, Psalm 24, May 12, 2018). Unfortunately, many believers fail to recognize the importance of this element, overlooking all need to focus on righteousness, considering such undertaking to be works/legalism, while God Almighty has identified it as a required prerequisite.

Those who “want God bad; they want God more than anything. They wake up in the morning, and before they grab that coffee; before they go for their phone, they go for the Lord; they want to see Him first thing” (Hershberg, Psalm 24, May 12, 2018, youtube); these are the ones

who “will receive a blessing from Adonai” (Ps.24:5).

“Lift up your heads, O gates, and be lifted up, you everlasting doors:

that the King of glory may come in” (Ps.24:7); He’s coming through the gates. . . .  “Who is this King of glory?” Adonai strong and mighty,

Adonai mighty in battle!” (Ps.24:8). This is Yeshua! Hail our King of Glory coming back to rule and reign! “Lift up your heads, O gates, and lift them up, you everlasting doors: that the King of glory may come in. “Who is this King of glory?” AdonaiTzva’ot—He is the King of glory!” (Ps.24:9,10).

“He just defeated the Enemy; it’s the end of the Tribulation … .” (Hershberg, Psalm 24, May 12, 2018, youtube). “Is there anything more hopeful than the return of Messiah? Nothing!” declares Hershberg (May 12, 2018, Psalm 24, youtube) jubilantly. Wouldn’t it be glorious if all God’s people assumed that position? Many seem otherwise, cringing, shuddering in fear . . ..   when all God’s people should be welcoming the Bridegroom Who descends from the heavens . . .. . “People Get Ready,” (Curtis Mayfield, “People Get Ready,” for the KING IS COMING!
