ISAIAH 41:25

I have raised up one from the north,

And he shall come;

From the rising of the sun he shall call on My name;

And he shall come against princes as though mortar,

As the potter treads clay.

ONCE AGAIN, CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING.

IN THE EARLIER PART OF THE CHAPTER, GOD IS SPEAKING TO ISAIAH AND CONFIRMING THAT, ALTHOUGH HE IS DISPLEASED WITH ISRAEL, HE IS NOT GOING TO ABANDON THEM. IN SPITE OF ISRAEL’S JUDGMENT AND EXILE, THEY REMAIN GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE.  EVEN THOUGH THEIR IDOLS ARE ABOMINATIONS TO HIM, HE IS GOING TO REDEEM THEM IN THE END.

HE WILL DO THIS BY SENDING A REDEEMER, WHO WILL ULTIMATELY WIN THEIR HEARTS AND THEY WILL FINALLY BELIEVE IN HIM.

THE “POTTER TREADS THE CLAY” THROUGHOUT THE DAYS OF THEIR REBELLION. JUDGMENT AND JUSTICE IS WORKED THROUGH TESTING, ADVERSITY, TRIBULATION. WHEN MESSIAH RETURNS HE WILL COME AGAINST THE ENEMIES OF ISRAEL AND BRING JUSTICE TO ALL THE INJUSTICES THROUGHOUT THE AGES, FOR THOSE WHO HAVE PERSECUTED ISRAEL WILL BE SEVERELY DEALT WITH IN THE END.

THIS IS A MESSIANIC PROPHECY, ONE OF MANY WHICH SPEAKS TO THE SECOND COMING OF MESSIAH AND THE SETTING UP OF HIS MILLENNIAL KINGDOM AT THE END OF THE AGE.

WE ARE TO LOOK FORWARD TO THIS, REJOICING IN ANTICIPATION OF THIS MARVELLOUS OCCURRENCE.
