FATHER’S HEART . . .   18.03.19

The Father’s Heart is that His people would desire to know Him; that we would seek Him, with hungry hearts that yearn for truth, to really know Him, for “you will seek Me and find Me, when you will search for Me with all your heart” (Jer.29:13). The Father’s Heart yearns for those who would truly want to know Him/His Heart, to commune/spend time with Him, not just want and demand things from Him. God’s Heart is that His people would hold Him in Highest Honour and Reverence, walking in awe/fear of Him – a fear of displeasing, being disloyal, disappointing Him, missing His messages, missing His “call.”

So often I hear God’s people querying about what is God’s will for my life . .  .. The Father’s Heart and Will is clearly expressed in Paul’s words: “present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Rom.12:1,2). It’s all so clear. If one simply lives in that place of holiness, fully entered into the process of transformation, surrendering all of self/putting all self to death, the will of God in that life will be realized. There is no need for a blueprint, folks. Just walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh (Gal.5:16,25). When one walks in the Spirit, one cannot miss the will of God, for you will step right into it.

While on occasion, God Almighty Himself may come looking for us, knocking on the door of our hearts, even chasing us down, He never imposes Himself on us, never forces us to accept His advances. Instead He waits patiently for us to come to Him, most desirous of our willful, passionate pursuit of Him. Yeshua expresses His Heart: “that they may know You, the only true God, and Yeshua the Messiah, the One You sent” (John 17:3,4). He yearns for us to want to know Him and spend time with Him: ““Let not the wise boast in his wisdom nor the mighty boast in his might nor the rich glory in his riches. But let one who boasts boast in this: that he understands and knows Me” (Jer.9:22,23).

““Call to Me, and I will answer you—I will tell you great and hidden things, which you do not know”” (Jer.33:3).  He wants us to want Him, to seek Him, to call on Him, to rely on and depend on Him.  It is “to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies” (Ps.25:10) that He will bless with covenant, and trust with His secrets, not those who simply make demands, calling on Him only when in trouble/crisis. We are instructed to “Delight yourself in Adonai  . . . Commit your way . . . .  Trust in Him” (Ps.37:4,5) – all the time, not just when we’re in trouble. It is a life of daily surrender to His Will that will bring a life filled with blessings of peace, freedom, victory – yes, folks, blessings of peace, freedom, and victory, NOT blessings of things, worldly fleshly carnal pleasures – NO! Real blessings are heavenly, spiritual, in relation to HIM, NOT to self.

Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near” (Isa.55:6).  “You will seek Adonai your God and you will find Him, when you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deut.4:29). “Then you will call on Me, and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me, when you will search for Me with all your heart. Then I will be found by you,” says Adonai . . . . .  I will bring you back to the place from which I removed you as captives into exile”(Jer.29:12-14). Notice that the promise to be found by Him, to bring His people out of captivity would only take effect on the condition that they would call, pray, seek – only then would He listen and answer. He never promised to cater to selfish desires and whims; He never promised to pander and cater and placate, as so many would have Him do.

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! Look, your house is left to you desolate! For I tell you, you will never see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”(Matt.23:37-39). This is an example of Yeshua/Jesus Himself expressing the Father’s Heart. Realize that His heart is aligned with the Father’s Heart – there is no variance between them.

Many have been indoctrinated with the false ideology/impression that the “God of the Old Testament” was somehow different from the “God of the New Testament,” viewed as scary, punitive, even mean spirited. But not only did Yahweh declare that He is the only God: “I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God” (Isa.45:5); but Yeshua also made it clear that He was one with the Father (John 10:30; 14:9-11; 17:11,21-23). He also reinforced the Old Testament Scriptures telling us to fear God when He said:

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. … Instead, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. ….” (Matt.10:28).  “”But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!” (Lk.12:5).  “The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant” (Ps.25:14). We are to have a holy fear of the Lord. As much as many want to only think of themselves as friends with our Lord, He is much more than just a friend. “You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness” (Hab.1:13). How can anyone think they can be on equal footing with a God so holy He cannot look upon sin?! Moreover, we know from Isaiah 55 that He clarifies: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts; Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts” (v.8,9). And let us be reminded, yet again, that Yeshua makes it perfectly clear that He “and the Father are ONE” (John 10:30).

“Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!” (Deut.5:29). Notice that all things going well is conditional to fearing Him. He wants us to fear Him – to hold Him in awe, reverence, highest esteem, and to keep all His commandments always, not occasionally or selectively. With all the present day’s compromise, watered-down, lukewarm teachings, it must be grieving the Father’s Heart tremendously in this New Age of globalism, and all-roads-lead-to-God relativism and universalist doctrine which has so infiltrated and polluted believers’ thinking. The focus is scarcely on seeking HIM, the one true God, with all the heart, when there is such a mixture of doctrines of demons, so much confusion, and mixing ‘n’ matching going on. “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons”(1 Tim.4:1).

We’ve always known that these days would come. Our focus needs to remain on His Word, seeking Him through His Word, and thereby staying grounded in the only thing that matters, for we must “Set our minds on things above, not on things on the earth” (Col.3:1).  We must keep our hearts aligned with His, not losing sight of the only thing that really matters: serving Him in obedience to our last breath, and spending eternity with Him; being faithful unto death (Rev.2:5).
