Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, is God over all creation, and is the Father of Jesus/Yeshua, who is One with the Father. He is the God who covenanted with His people, the Hebrews/Jews/Israel, and He is still the God of all creation today. “Remember the former things of old: For I am God—there is no other. I am God, and there is none like Me— declaring the end from the beginning, from ancient time, what is yet to come, saying, “My purpose will stand, and I will accomplish all that I please” (Isa.46:9,10).  God’s Word does not change; His decrees are irreversible.

“The people walking in darkness will see a great light. Upon those dwelling in the land of the shadow of death, light will shine” (Isa.9:1). To immediately dispell the myth that this has application only to the Jews and to the Old Testament, see that Jesus/Yeshua repeats the prophecy of Isaiah when He declares: the people sitting in darkness have seen a great light, and those sitting in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned. From then on, Yeshua began to proclaim, “Turn away from your sins, for the kingdom of heaven is near” (Matt.4:16,17). Notice, too, how He tied into that the message of salvation.

Although Yahweh’s anger may be burning against His people for failing to keep covenant with Him, and there will be a time of severe judgment during which the Enemies of Israel will be allowed to do some terrible things, Yahweh will bring it all back together, and gather His remnant, as prophesied literally dozens of times throughout Scripture:

Isaish 9:10-13

10 Therefore Adonai raises up

   *Rezin’s adversaries against them,

and spurs on his enemies.

11 The Arameans from the east

and the Philistines from the west—

they will devour Israel with open mouth.

For all this His anger is not turned away,

yet His hand is still outstretched.

12 Yet the people will not turn back

to the One who strikes them,

nor will they seek Adonai-Tzva’ot.

13 So Adonai will cut off from Israel head and tail,

palm branch and bulrush in a single day.

*NOTE: in verse 10(above), “Rezin” is translated as “Assyrians,”who would be today’s northern Iraq, southeastern Turkey, northwesternIranandnortheasternSyria” (https://www.google.ca/?client=safari&channel=mac_bm&gws_rd=cr&ei=zb-pWKCsBs2ijwPrgIegDA#channel=mac_bm&q=who+are+the+assyrians+today).

Eddie Chumney, teacher of Hebraic roots of Christianity,Hebraic Heritage Ministries International is dedicated to restoring the Hebraic roots of Christianity, explains in his study (https://youtu.be/-vZXsQ_4ivY?list=PLFExJF2KBSH3n2dGuDz2IwvV6zs86Z16g) that prophecies occur in part, in stages, and in layers. He goes on to say that “what happens to Messiah happens to Israel, and what happens to Israel happens to Messiah.” I do recommend studying his youtube teachings (there are several) to assist in filling in the gaps for what is discussed here, as it is impossible for me to reiterate all the historical facts and tie-ins (and he does it much more effectively than I would be able to do).The point of this study, for our purposes here, however, is the tie-in of the covenant – the covenant promise that regardless of all the things/ways/times that Israel/His people have been unfaithful/disobedient, God will pick up the pieces and gather in a remnant. Despite the fact that God will use Israel’s Enemies to bring judgment/discipline to His people, He will ultimately punish the very ones that were used to discipline them, and gather a remnant of His people that will come to Him and be His.

Isaiah 10:20-25:

20 Yet it will come about in that day

that the remnant of Israel—

those of the house of Jacob who escaped—

will never again depend on the one

   who struck them down,

but will depend upon Adonai,

the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

21 A remnant will return,

even the remnant of Jacob,

to the Mighty God.

22 For though your people, O Israel,

be as the sand of the sea,

only a remnant of them will return.

Destruction has been decreed.

Justice overflows.

23 For a complete destruction, as decreed,

will Adonai Elohei-Tzva’ot make throughout the whole land.

24 Therefore thus says Adonai Elohei-Tzva’ot:

“O My people dwelling in Zion,

do not be afraid of Assyria,

though he strike you with the war-club,

and lift up his rod against you, as Egypt did.

25 “For in a very little while My indignation against you will be spent, and My anger will turn to their destruction.”

Once God Almighty has made a decree, it cannot be reversed, whether it is for good or bad: “The plan of Adonai stands forever, the purposes of His heart from generation to generation” (Ps.33:11; ref. Also, Isa.46:9,10).

“Behold, a day of Adonai is coming when your plunder will be divided in your midst. I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to wage war. The city shall be captured” (Zech.14:1,2), one of the prophecies that is near at hand to be fulfilled, according to Eddie Chumney and Monte Judah (among others), and again, even though God will allow this to occur, the ultimate decree will also be fulfilled because God’s love for His people remains intact:

Zechariah 8:

3 Thus says Adonai, “I will return to Zion and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth and the mountain of Adonai-Tzva’ot will be called the Holy Mountain.”

6 “Thus says Adonai-Tzva’ot, ‘It may seem difficult in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days . . . .

7 “Thus says Adonai-Tzva’ot, ‘Behold, I will save My people from the land of the east and from the land of the west.

8 I will bring them back and they will live in the midst of Jerusalem. They will be My people and I will be their God, in truth and righteousness.’

11 But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as in the former days”—it is a declaration of Adonai-Tzva’ot.

12 “For there will be a sowing of shalom: the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will produce its increase, and the heavens will give their dew. I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.

13 It will happen that just as you were a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you and you will be a blessing. Fear not! Let your hands be strong!’

23 Thus says Adonai-Tzva’ot, “In those days it will come to pass that ten men from every language of the nations will grasp the corner of the garment of a Jew saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

“Just when it looks like everything is hopeless, God will intervene,” (https://youtu.be/-vZXsQ_4ivY?list=PLFExJF2KBSH3n2dGuDz2IwvV6zs86Z16g) Eddie Chumney states, and supernatural deliverance will bring God’s remnant miraculously into place.

Zech.9:8,10,14-16

8 But I will camp around My House

       against marauding forces.

No oppressor will overrun them again—

for now I watch with My own eyes.

10  . . . . . .   the war bow will be broken.

He will speak shalom to the nations.

His rule will extend from sea to sea,

from the River to the ends of the earth.

14 Then Adonai will be seen over them

as His arrow flashes like lightning.

Adonai Elohim will blow the shofar

and march in whirlwinds of the south.

15 Adonai-Tzva’ot will defend them.

They will consume and conquer with sling stones.

They will drink and roar as with wine

       and be filled like a bowl. . . . .

16 Adonai their God will save them on that day

as the flock of His people.

They will be like gems of a crown

       sparkling over His land.

In the end, God’s covenant with Israel will be fully realized; God will bring judgment upon all Israel’s enemies; and justice will be done.  This is the extent of God’s integrity, and His unconditional love. Intrinsic to this is the inclusion of the extension of inclusion of covenant to Gentile believers, who are grafted in, “For you are all sons of God through trusting in Messiah Yeshua. For all of you who were immersed in Messiah have clothed yourselves with Messiah. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female—for you are all one in Messiah Yeshua. And if you belong to Messiah, then you are Abraham’s seed—heirs according to the promise” (Gal.3:26-29).
