Father, bring us back to the basics, the foundational components of our faith, just as Your Word instructs us to do/be; just as Jesus/Yeshua taught His disciples when He said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life! No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). That is first and foremost what we need to be acknowledging – that Yeshua is in fact the only channel through which we have access to You, Holy Father,  “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus/Messiah Yeshua” (1 Tim.2:5). We need no one else. Father forgive Your people who still pray to saints, and I ask that You would convict them of the error of their ways.

May we follow our Lord’s example, and keep our place, for Jesus/Yeshua said: I have given you an example—you should do for each other what I have done for you. “Amen, amen I tell you, a servant isn’t greater than his master, and the one who is sent isn’t greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them!”” (John 13:15-17). Teach us to walk in this truth. Enable us to do accordingly, and to stop hanging onto our carnal selves, and instead pursue victory through getting rid of that selfish self, and attaining real freedom –  freedom to live the victorious life in Christ.

Make us to act on what we know. Let us no longer agree with messages that compromise Your Word, for  Yeshua said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to follow after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matt. 16:24-26). There is nothing about this statement that lets us off the hook. Convict all Your people that they/we would all stop trying to find a way around what we are being told. Make us to willingly enter into that self-denialgiving up, surrendering, getting rid of self. Make us ready and willing to take on whatever You call us to, being obedient to whatever You call us to. May we walk in accordance with what Jesus/Yeshua modelled for us, following the way He connected the dots between Torah/Tanakh and New Testament.

Give us the heart of Jesus/Yeshua Who was willing to sacrifice for us all, that we may be willing to endure hardships, even to die horrible deaths, just as many of the disciples did. Teach us to expect persecution and trials (I Pet.1:6,7), and to accept “the fiery ordeal taking place to test us—as though something strange were happening to you. Instead, rejoice insofar as you share in the sufferings of Messiah, so that at the revelation of His glory you may also rejoice and be glad” (I Pet. 4:12,13). Teach us to understand that Your Grace gets us through; but Your Grace does not replace our participation, nor prevent the undergoing of hardships.

We have been so deceived by multiple erroneous teachings that would have us believe that we are somehow exempt from hardships,

that we are taken aback when they occur.  Forgive us for being deceived by messages that reduce Your Grace to a provision/excuse for sinful lusts and disobedience. Forgive us for replacing with cheap grace, by which we make excuses and gloss over our sinful behaviour with rationalizing and justifying, and denial, in an effort to escape walking in obedience, holiness/righteousness. Forgive us for redefining obedience as  legalistic works.

Make us get back to basics, and follow Your Word. Impassion us with Your Word, that we will delight in walking in it, instead of attempting to escape from our responsibilities.  Bring us to that place of willingness to lay down our lives for You; to live a lifestyle set apart/surrendered to You, Father, by walking in the footsteps of the Son. Let us become like Your disciples of old, ready and willing for whatever lies before us, for we want to be overcomers; and They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives even in the face of death(Rev. 12:11). May we be willing to do our part, for we are so grateful that by Your Grace we are given the choice, the privilege to participate; by Your GRACE we are given the strength to lay down our lives; by Your GRACE we can submit/surrender our flesh. Oh, that we would come to realize the freedom in this, instead of viewing it as a burden, attempting to side-step the responsibility involved.

Let us no longer simply give lip-service to following Yeshua/walking in the footsteps of Yeshua/Jesus, but let us now get back to basics: study The Word – eat it, chew it, digest it; internalize it; and apply it: live a lifestyle based on that Word, a lifestyle of holiness and righteousness unto the Lord, taking responsibility to actually practice doing what He taught and lived, and likewise responding with obedience to whatever Your call. Let us “deny self daily, take up our Cross and follow Him” (Lk.9:23). In Jesus/Yeshua’s Name. Amen.
