There is life in the supernatural; and it is entirely possible to live life in that supernatural realm, by the power of the Holy Spirit:I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper so He may be with you forever—  the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him,” (John 14:16,17); and furthermore, upon receiving that awesome and most holy gift, we then have the potential to enter into that exclusive supernatural position of oneness: “In that day, you will know that I am in My Father, you are in Me, and I am in you” (John 14:20). That special place of intimacy with a Being unseen is truly supernatural, while simultaneously more real/authentic than most human relationships.

Paul also alluded to this special position, saying that “Even when we were dead in our trespasses, He made us alive together with Messiah. (By grace you have been saved!) And He raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Messiah Yeshua” (Eph.2:6). The only way anyone could possibly make any sense out of that statement is by living in that secret place of knowing Father/Son/Holy Spirit intimately.

Paul further elaborated and instructed that, since we have this special placement, we should no longer be focussed on the things of the flesh, but live our lives according to the Ruach/Holy Spirit, and set our minds on the things of the Ruach/Holy Spirit (Rom.8:5, paraphrased), which entails living in the supernatural. Even the Psalmist, in OT times, knew about that place, which confirms that it all hinges to our relationship with Father/Son/Holy Spirit, for “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Ps.91:1, NKJV). That is a supernatural place, and a supernatural way of life, which can only be experienced by the power of the Ruach Ha-Kodesh/Holy Spirit of God.

“When God called the church to supernatural work for Him, He provided supernatural power. That supernatural dynamic of the Spirit operates through prayer, faith, and obedience” (Duewel, 1990, p.111). A life given to prayer, combined with a daily walk of surrender, is the key to living in the supernatural. Power in prayer can only come through the power of the Ruach/Holy Spirit of God; and it is by exercising that power that we may enter into a life lived in the supernatural realm, experiencing God’s presence daily, communing with the living God, as our best friend, trusting, sharing, depending on His presence for every breath. “The Holy Spirit breathes the spirit of prayer within you; power in prayer comes from His empowering within. He will not continue to empower for prayer unless you use that power in

“We have been so busy depending on our own natural strengths, our good training, and our busyness for God that we are near spiritual bankruptcy” (Duewel, 1990, p.110,111).

prayer  . . . . We have been so busy depending on our own natural strengths, our good training, and our busyness for God that we are near spiritual bankruptcy” (Duewel, 1990, p.110,111). Until, and unless, and if and when we get over our selves and cast away the strongholds of self-reliance, self-sufficiency, self-focus, and truly surrender every aspect of self and life to Him, we will not experience life in the supernatural.

When we “Abide in HIM, HE abides in us” (John 15:4, paraphrased for personal context), and we can “walk by the Ruach,” (Gal.5:16), and actualize that position of oneness, just as Father and Son – “that that they all may be one. Just as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You, so also may they be one in Us  . . . . that they may be one just as We are one—  I in them and You in Me—that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them as You loved Me” (John 17:21-23). It is that supernatural oneness, that if it were to become a natural lifestyle for all believers, would transform and unify God’s people all over the globe. “If we live by the Ruach, let us also walk by the Ruach” (Gal.5:25).

This is the reason for the lack of unity amongst God’s people. The church is so busy preaching love, grace, while neglecting to teach people how to live in the Spirit, in that supernatural realm, with which we have been gifted. Without emphasis on living life in the supernatural realm by the power of the Ruach/Holy Spirit, people are attempting to love out of the natural self, the flesh, which is totally counter to God’s Word: “we do not owe anything to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Ruach you put to death the deeds of the body . . .” (Rom.8:12,13), for “The heart is deceitful above all things, and incurable—who can know it?” (Jer.17:9). From the carnal heart, comes selfish, self-serving tainted, carnal love, not the love of Christ/Messiah.  Loving just as the rest of society loves bears little relation to the self-sacrificing love of Yeshua Messiah, and makes little or no contribution to the unity Yeshua talked about, “so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them” (John 17:26). Let us seek the things of God, not of man. The things of God are supernatural. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring you higher and closer, and take you deeper – into that supernatural realm.
